Sara Charney will discuss vocal health, prevention strategies (including myth-debunking), as well as present a series of semi-occluded vocal tract exercises that have been shown to promote vocal efficiency and decrease vocal fatigue.
Debi Kret will utilize movement, drumming, singing bowls, and flute meditations to demonstrate practices students and professionals can incorporate to reduce physical strain during Music Therapy sessions and to promote self-care.
*Debi holds a master's degree in music therapy and advanced training in Neurological Music Therapy (NMT). She also holds advanced training in mindfulness practices, trauma and recovery, Rythm for Life and Village Music Circles drum circle training as well as extensive training and experience with sound healing. She guest-lectures for universities and has presented about music therapy, motivation, and team-building internationally. Debi is a past president of the Arizona Music Therapy Association (www.AZMTA.org) and currently serves on the board of directors for the Drum Circle Facilitators Guild (www.dcfg.net).
