Mary Gaughan, MT-BC

Board Certified Music Therapist

Mary Gaughan is a board-certified music therapist living in Flagstaff, AZ. She received her bachelor's degree in music therapy from Arizona State University in May 2015. Upon graduating, Mary completed her 6 month internship with Seasons Hospice in Orange County, California and became a board-certified music therapist in January 2016. Mary has 6 years clinical experience working in the hospice setting and is currently working with children and young adults with disabilities. Having recently relocated to Flagstaff, Mary is excited to have a new private practice in Northern Arizona called Peak Music Therapy, LLC offering music therapy services to clients of all ages and abilities. When she isn't working with her clients you can find her adventuring with her dog Nalah, scaling the sides of cliffs rock climbing, mountain biking, or camping.

Mary joined the AZMTA board in May 2019 as the media relations board member, and is excited to now be serving in the role of president. Mary hopes to continue to represent, advocate for, and expand the Arizona music therapy community and ensure that this is an organization where all music therapists feel represented, can learn, grow, network, and gain new experiences through the diverse events offered by AZMTA.
