- A professional music therapist holds a bachelor’s degree or higher in music therapy from one of over 70 American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) approved college and university programs.
- In-depth knowledge in three main areas: musical foundations, clinical foundations, and music therapy foundations and principles as specified in the AMTA Professional Competencies.
- A minimum of 1200 hours of clinical training, including a supervised internship, prior to earning certification.

Michelle Nettle has been a music therapist in the Valley for over 12 years specializing in working with children with a variety of developmental disabilities including Autism, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and other neurologic and genetic disorders.
She graduated from the University of the Pacific in 2000 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy and received her Board Certification in 2002. Michelle also completed advanced training in Neurologic Music Therapy from Colorado State University in 2004.
Michelle loves working with children who have developmental disabilities and has extensive knowledge and experience in effectively working with children and their families. Michelle is the owner of Blossom & Bloom Music Therapy Services, LLC and she provides in-home music therapy services to children in North Phoenix, Scottsdale, Cave Creek, Carefree, North Phoenix, Anthem, North Glendale, and North Peoria. In addition to in-home therapy, Michelle provides group music therapy to facilities and organizations serving children with disabilities and early childhood music classes to both special needs and typical children.
