- National board certification requires that each music therapist has met the eligibility requirements to sit for – and pass the Certified Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) exam.
- A professional music therapist holds a bachelor’s degree or higher in music therapy from one of over 70 American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) approved college and university programs.
- In-depth knowledge in three main areas: musical foundations, clinical foundations, and music therapy foundations and principles as specified in the AMTA Professional Competencies.
- A minimum of 1200 hours of clinical training, including a supervised internship, prior to earning certification.

Amanda Klinger, MT-BC, is the owner of InTune Therapy. She provides home-health music therapy services to individuals with developmental disabilities. (Service areas include: North/Central Phoenix, Paradise Valley, Scottsdale, Cave Creek)
Previous to owning her own practice, Amanda graduated from the UW-Eau Claire with a bachelor degree in Music Therapy; completing an internship specializing in Sensory Integration at the Children’s Center for Neurodevelopmental Studies. After two years at CCNS, she joined Heartland Therapy, through DDD, for six years.
Amanda is passionate about learning new skills and trends in Music Therapy and has completed over 200 hours of continuing education. She supports the Music Therapy community locally and nationally.
